Posted by elainepozos in News & Announcements on January 11th, 2011
After 12 years, our newsletter editor, Karen Gregory, is stepping down. So the Westcreek Neighborhood Association is looking for a new editor! If you like to write, edit and do a little page layout design, this position is perfect for you.
The newsletter comes out once a month, and the design work is for the front page only, and only if you would like to design a bit.
If you are interested, please contact Chris Schexnayder at chrisschexnayder@sbcglobal.net, or Karen at kgregory1@att.net.

Pet Cat Shot with Pellet Gun in Westcreek
Posted by elainepozos in Current Issues, News & Announcements on January 4th, 2011
On Monday, January 3, near the corner of Jay’s Lane and Porsche Lane sometime between noon and 3:00 pm a cat was shot in the leg with a pellet gun. This is a family pet and he required surgery to remove the pellet and clean the wound. The good people at Travis Country Veterinary Hospital (fabulous, by the way!) were able to save the pellet for whatever evidentiary use it may provide.
If you see anyone shooting a weapon in the neighborhood please report the incident. It’s important to have some record on file in case a pattern develops or something more serious happens in the future. If you know anything about the incident last Monday please call 311 and refer to report number 115001980.

Please be sure to have your light display ready by the Wednesday, December 15 so the committee can consider your yard. Join your neighbors who already have put up some lovely lighting/decorations!
Collecting DVDs for Soldiers
Posted by elainepozos in News & Announcements on December 13th, 2010
If you have duplicate DVD movies or just want to recycle them the Rotary Club at Ft. Hood has started a project “Operation A Bit of Home” which is creating DVD libraries for the troops overseas. You can check them out at http://www.operationabitofhome.com/.
Sandra Baldridge has about 100 DVD’s that she’s collected and if anyone in the hood would like to drop off their surplus DVD’s for this purpose, please leave them at her door, 4505 Grider Pass. This will be an ongoing project.
Thanks for your consideration and may each of you have a safe and peace-filled Holiday Season.
