Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

June 21, 2005

Executive Committee members present: Jan Boswell, Ben Coughran, Barry Kalda, Alicia Ortiz,

1. Minutes were approved.

2. Treasurer’s Report. 192 members have paid dues for 2005. Cash available is $11,532.24.

3. OHAN Report. Ben advised that outgoing city councilwoman Jackie Goodman attended the most recent meeting. There was some speculation among OHAN members that this may indicate the Austin City Council is taking note of Southwest Austin.

At the OHAN meeting, Ben gave a presentation about some of the problems we have encountered with the City’s 311 system. Coincidentally, on that same day, prior to the meeting, Ben checked the system and found it had been upgraded and works quite well, certainly better than before. It begins as a voice activated system that one navigates until reaching the desired department to communicate the issue directly to a person.

There was also an “All Systems Go” briefing. It appears that a Park-and-Ride is planned at the intersection of MoPac and Slaughter.

Bruce Perrin of OHAN has offered to meet with the WNA Executive Committee, at one of our upcoming meetings, to discuss issues that affect the Oak Hill area, including Westcreek.

Oak Hill will host the “Cruise and Blues Crafts Fair” on October 8, 2005.
