The Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission (ICRC) has finalized the 10-1 Single District Austin map showing Westcreek in District 8.
The Oak Hill Association of Neighborhoods (OHAN), which the Westcreek Neighborhood Association is a member of, and several other SW neighbors had to really push to keep Oak Hill in the same district on the map. We are thankful for their efforts.
What this means is that in the November 2014 election for city council, residents will vote on ONE district representative PLUS the Mayor. Candidates for council must live in their district. After that point, we will have a single person on council to go to with concerns about city matters in SW Austin.
