Westcreek Neighborhood Watch Program Meeting

  • Tuesday, February 11, 2014 @ 7:00 p.m.
    • Travis County Precinct 3 Constable Office (8656 B West Highway 71, Suite 132, Austin, TX 78735)
  • Special presentation by John Luther, who has won awards for his program in the Barton Hills Neighborhood.
  • Meeting to discuss starting a formal watch program up in Westcreek (presentation specifically set up for Westcreek)
  • Come learn how to make your home safer for about one dollar.
  • Discuss safety and crime prevention and how we can easily build a neighborhood watch program in Westcreek

 

Westcreek Flooding Prevention & Preparedness
  • Wednesday March 5, 2014 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. – Will Hampton Oak Hill Library, 5125 Convict Hill Rd, Austin, TX 78749
  • “Flooding and You” presented by the City of Austin Watershed Department (presentation specifically set up for Westcreek)
  • Personal safety during storms/floods
  • Preparations for if you live in a floodplain and if you do not live in a floodplain
  • What an individual can do to help prevent flooding of either the neighborhood or their personal property
  • What type of debris/vegetation removal the City can do if it’s called in to 311
  • Reporting drainage concerns (either for floodplain or localized flooding)

 

Westcreek Neighborhood-wide Garage Sale

  • Back by popular demand.  To be held annually on the 1st weekend in April.
  • Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and 6, 2014
  • Residents hold their own garage sales (individual or families can go in on one together)
  • WNA announces in local postings & displays signs at neighborhood entrances
  • Email your name & address to [email protected] if you plan on participating & want your address listed in the postings

 

Westcreek Annual Get Together

  • Sunday, April 6th from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m.  @ Dick Nichol’s Park, 8011 Beckett Road (if it rains, we will reschedule)
  • Let us know if you can help organize and/or volunteer at this event!
    • WNA will provide light snacks and refreshments as well as a Moonwalk for the kiddos.  In case you haven’t visited the park, Dick Nichol’s Park also offers a large, covered pavilion with picnic tables (which we have reserved for our private party), a water feature, a playground, restrooms, tennis courts, volleyball court, basketball court, large field area for playing ball, and a great trail for walking & biking.
