September Yard of the Month was awarded to Jack and Vicki Anstey who live at 6211 Smith Oak. Their lovely well-groomed yard is brightened by the colorful Pride of Barbados and the Esperanza “Yellow Bells” in the front corner of their yard. Beautiful blooming bougainvillea in pots adorn the walkway to the front door and recently added front patio. Knock out roses bring color to the front of the house. The Anstey’s are the original homeowners having been in the neighborhood for thirty-three years! They received a $50 gift certificate from Leaf Wholesale Supply (formerly Emerald Gardens), an oil change from Klingemann’s valued at $35, a $20 gift card for Flores Mexican Restaurant, and a $15 gift card from D’Lites Ice Cream! Please frequent our neighborhood sponsors and thank them for supporting our Yard of the Month program.
We will be awarding one more yard in October as the committee decided to skip August since yards are in “survival mode” due to our oppressive heat and lack of rain. September and October offer our yards time to recover and we hope to award to yards showing some fall color! Then in December, we will award to the yard with the best holiday decorations! Judging will occur around December 21 to allow for three Dec. weekends for folks to get their decorations glowing! Remember, you must be a member of WNA to win the YOM award. Join today!!
