September Yard of the Month was awarded to Meredith and Lachlan Ferguson at 6551 Fair Valley. The front yard became Lachlan’s “Pandemic Project” in March of 2020 when Meredith shooed Lachlan out of the house so she could work from their home. It has been his “work in progress” ever since. He has planted beautiful antique roses, Crepe Myrtles, various Hibiscus, Pride of Barbados, and Firecrackers for blooming color. A large bed across the curb is sporting his second planting of Zinnias with tall Texas Sunflowers flanking the yard.
Keep an eye out for Lachlan and his chain saw as he begins carving the dead Live Oak stump by the front entrance. He envisions a carved totem pole topped with a gargoyle! He is waiting for cooler weather to start that project.
